I'm Josh. I love to play guitar. I started about 9 months ago, and I practice everyday now for several hours. I think Progressive Rock is my favorite genre of music right now, and accordingly I want to make a Progressive Rock album as my debut as a musician. I have some very talented friends who are way more advanced than me on their instruments, and they will be backing me on the album. It's not going to be a real band, just a collaboration, a starting grounds for us all.

Right now I'm looking to purchase a $450 dollar Taylor Big Baby Acoustic guitar to record with. My dad is going to buy some new gear with his gig money too. So we should have a home recording studio setup again in no time. If nothing else I have a 4-track I can do it on, but that would just have to be a practice run due to the lack-luster quality.

Anyways, as soon as I have a song finished, I'll let you guys know. I will also be video recording some covers of my favorite Led Zeppelin tunes soon, and sharing them on youtube and myspace and also here. It should all sound pretty good. I'm really excited about all of this, if you can't tell!

Only one of those videos is mine. The other four are videos of my dad's band. My uncle plays the lead guitar, my dad plays the bass, and their friend plays on his custom drum set that he built himself.

I'm going to try to make another video soon. I'm working on several songs.

Suffering gives the right inspiration for creativity , but i'm not convinced about the idea of making a progressive rock album , by an amateur first , and with the limited equipments yu've got . i believe that , if yu have the EIGHT t's , any professional producer Or record company will accept to release yur work subject to yur conditions .
Just to give a small idea about my opinion . Led Zeppelin ( first album) cost 7000 Pounds to make at the beginning , then 2.6 million pounds to remaster it on dts digital in 1995 . Thick as a brick ( Jethro Tull ) , 2.7 millions for remastering . Pink Floyd , live in Pompei and The Wall , cost the band more than 6 millions to remaster . So , don't use the limited equipments to produce such recordings , it's not ( and i mean it ) reliable anymore among Proggers . Try to use the right channels for your art work .......

Thanks for the advice. I plan on investing a lot of money into buying some high quality equipment, and learning how to use it all. I probably won't even begin recording for another year. Right now I'm still learning.
