Hardcore has branched out into so many different sounds that everyone has some sort of different opinions on what hXc is. One full piece of truth though is that it started out with hardcore punk in the 80's. After that, it eventually branched out other genres such as Grindcore and Metalcore. The only thing that annoys me about today's Scene "Hardcore" bands is when their fans act like they're the only hXc bands ever in existence, such as BMTH or Blessthefall. I'm not saying that they suck. I'm just pointing out the ignorance of some of their fans.

Overall, I think my favorite hXc genres would be hXc Punk and Metalcore.

Hardcore can be defined differently I think for everyone. It's a branch on a tree this brach having many different leaves. For me REAL or HARDCORE:HARDCORE bands are bands like Madball and H2O.
then theres Maylene and the Sons of Disaster and Cancer Bats.
All these bands being great.
xx

Default yep

good points. i love 80s hxc. But ur right hxc has branched out so much they all got there own scene and trends now. its not a family anymore. i was talking to some metal head last year about how hxc is here to stay and has earned to be recognized. He laughed and said its only been around for two years. I was surprised at what he said. this is coming from a dude who listens to metal bands who were influence by 3rd generation hxc and also listens to old school punk bands like DK thinking it neverd existed. but wat I hate is when new kids say there hxc just cuse they listen to shit like job for a cowboy. Thats at the most is hxc influence Metal. I mean if the band isnt passing the mic and there isnt at least a few stage dives then its just metal with breakdowns

yeah it kind of sucks how thats happened. And Job For A Cowboy or Bring Me The Horizon will always be more metal to me. Theres a side project band called the international superheros of hardcore. It may sound ridiculous but their lyrics have really valid points and etc. It's really cool.
Also if you haven't heard of Cancer Bats you should check them out. They are one of my favourite Hardcore bands at the moment.

i listen to job for a cowboy, along with bands like parkway drive and i killed the prom queen. i dont think i have ever claimed to be "HxC". i think hardcore is stuff like bad brains, black flag and sick of it all in my opinion, but newer bands adopt the musical style of these bands, such as breakdowns, yet not the vocal style. and yeh, what the hell is this two step crap all about? its pretty annoying when u just want to enjoy a decent circle pit. And yep, Cancer Bats are awesome too.
