the new thrice is not hardcore. their last semi hardcore album was Artist In The Ambulance. Illusion of Safety and Identity Crisis are some pretty amazing hardcore albums. Check them out for sure. PM me and I can send you some songs

if you want the start of hardcore
you have to go back black flag in the early 80's
wen they took punk music and gave it more of an edge

when i say edge i don't mean anything to do with straight edge that didnt come around until the Ian mckay era

haha, it aint a religion but there is defently a lifestyle that comes with the music
but then nower days that happens in every music type
