| Senior Member | Since i was 16 years , in 1969 , i'm trying to define Progressive music .My ears , heart , common sence , and , MY GREY HAIR , gave me a logical explanation to this question . Progressivity in general is involved with all kind of arts , including music . Ranging from Pop , jazz , blues , rock , folk & country , even classical & soul music can be progressive , if the basic structure is modified from original style . That's why we have progressive metal , rock , folk ... etc The bottom line in this introduction is , that many bands was involved , one way or another , with progressive music , but no one was able to mention this fact . In my humble opinion , Bands like , Free , Ten Years After , Allman brothers , Robin Trower , Rare Earth , John Miles , Alice Cooper , Great White , Grosby , Stills & Nash , Barclay James Harvest and so many others , had a beautiful Progressive Songs in the past . Steve Hillage wasn't mentioned also with 8 albums of the best releases in Progressive . Nazareth & cactus had also few , but interresting albums ........... If you want to say , on what measures i built this opinion ,,,, WELL , Listen by yourselves dear proggers to Music ( John Miles ) , Halo of Lies ( Alice Cooper ) Get Ready ( Rare Earth ) Carry on (live version , Grosby Stills ) Days of Pearly Spencer ( David Mac Williams ) Nine by Nine ( John Dummer Blues band ) orrrrrrrr Bridge of Sights ( Robin Trower ) ................ And YOU tell me ............... Tracks Toni |
