| Senior Member | Even by Phil , Garry , Snowy , Brian and Scott , Thin Lizzy isn't a progressive Rock band . I agree on this point , but , in my opinion Thin Lizzy are a Progressive band . So , why is that ? Taking into consideration all their works since 1969 , they had so many line - ups changes . -- Philip Lynott ( the master of this reality ) on bass & vocals , 69 till 83 . -- Brian Robertson , on guitar , between 74 & 78 . -- Gary Moore , on guitar , in 1974 , and 78/79 . -- Brian Downey , on drums , all the way from 69 till 83 . -- Scott Gorham , on guitar , from 74 till 83 . -- Eric Bell , on guitar from 69 till 73 . -- Snowy White , on guitar from 80 till 82 . -- Darren Luharton , on keyboard from 80 till 83 . -- John Sykes , on guitar in 82 and 83 . As it shows , they had many diversions and changes in the main line - ups . But Still , they had many works that i can consider as ( prog related ) specially between 1979 and 1983 . ![]() Albums such == -- 1 -- Shades of a Blue orphanage , 1972 . -- 2 -- Vagabonds of a western world , 1973 . -- 3 -- Night Life , 1974 . -- 4 -- Fighting , 1975 . -- 5 -- Jailbreak , 1976 . -- 6 -- Johny the Fox , 1976 . -- 7 -- Bad Reputation , 1977 . -- 8 -- Black Rose , 1979 . -- 9 -- China Town , 1980 . --10-- Renegade , 1981 . --11-- Killers , and Killers ( live ) in 1981 . --12-- Thunder & lightning , 1983 . --13-- One Night Only ( live ) All these releases deserves more recognition from Heavy Blues Rock Fans , it's a pure progressive blues rock in a new globe . Thanks to Vertigo from 1974 till 1983 , and to Decca from the first beginning in 1969 till 1974 , we had the best collection of heavy blues rock to enjoy with /////////////////// Tracks Toni ////// Best albums , Renegade , Thunder & lightning , Jailbreak , Johny the Fox , Black Rose & Chinatown //////// Enjoy the good rock /// |
